The Netherlands – Van Oord has wrapped up the installation of the Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm.

Situated 18.5 kilometers off the Dutch west coast, this cutting-edge wind farm is now a powerhouse, generating renewable energy for over 1 million Dutch households.

Tasked by CrossWind, a Shell and Eneco joint venture, Van Oord executed a swift and seamless installation process. The project involved designing, engineering, procuring, transporting, and installing 70 wind turbine foundations, inter-array cables, and the turbines themselves. The speed at which Van Oord completed the installation sets a new standard for efficiency in offshore wind projects.

Collaboration

Van Oord employed a strategic fleet, including flexible fallpipe vessels Bravenes and Nordnes, the offshore installation jack-up vessel MPI Resolution, cable-laying vessel Nexus, and trencher Dig-It. Collaborating with industry partners DEME, Seajacks, and Cadeler, Van Oord orchestrated a technological symphony at sea.

The completion of the Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm not only contributes to the Dutch energy transition but also enhances Van Oord’s illustrious track record in offshore wind projects. The company’s prowess in efficient project execution solidifies its position as a leader in the renewable energy frontier.
