The Netherlands – The Hollandse Kust Noord wind farm’s first of 69 wind turbines was put into place last Saturday.
The first electricity from the wind farm should be available by the summer, according to the CrossWind consortium, a joint venture between Shell and Eneco. The task has to be finished before the year is through.
The turbines’ transportation and installation are handled by Van Oord and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. The installation ship Scylla is utilised by the two parties in this. The ship left Eemshaven last week, and on April 15 the first turbine was set into the foundation. The wind turbines can produce up to 11 MW of power and have rotor diameters of 200 metres.

The Hollandse Kust Noord wind farm will have a total installed capacity of 759 MW after all 69 turbines are constructed, installed, and operational.
The wind turbines are currently being built around-the-clock, every day of the week. A wind turbine may be installed in less than 24 hours, weather permitting.
At Egmond aan Zee, 18.5 kilometres off the Dutch coast, is where you’ll find the Hollandse Kust Noord wind farm. The wind turbines are provided by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, and Van Oord is in charge of providing the foundations, wires, and putting the wind turbines in the water.
