Belgium/Switzerland – A letter of intent has been signed between the Belgian hydrogen business TES and the Swiss energy company Energie 360°.
The contract states that starting in 2027, TES will provide Energie 360° with about one TWh of renewable synthetic methane (eNG) annually. The CO2 will then be provided by Energie 360° to TES.
CO2 for eNG
Hydrogen and CO2 combine to create synthetic renewable methane. TES seeks to develop the eNG in areas with high levels of renewable energy production. CO2 is supplied by Energy 360° from its own power plants. Hence, a closed cycle is produced.
The CO2 is collected and may later be used for eNG synthesis or storage.
