United Kingdom – In order to investigate the possibility of using offshore wind energy to power new integrated energy centers in the UK North Sea, Neptune Energy has partnered with Ørsted and Goal7.

Multiple energy systems, such as current oil and gas production assets, carbon storage facilities, and hydrogen production facilities, may be combined in integrated energy hubs. They might increase the lifespan of agricultural fields and strengthen the business case for electrification using renewable energy to reduce carbon emissions.

Rnewable electricity

In accordance with the agreement, the firms will investigate the possibility of supplying future Neptune-operated hubs in the UK North Sea with renewable electricity generated by Ørsted’s Hornsea offshore wind farm projects. Goal7 will offer technical assistance and project management support.

Early in 2023, the North Sea Transition Authority is expected to provide storage licenses.
