The Netherlands/India – Shell Overseas Investment B.V., a wholly owned subsidiary of Shell, has completed its 100% acquisition of Solenergi Power Private Limited and with it, the Sprng Energy group of companies from Actis.
Actis founded Sprng Energy in 2017, a renewable energy platform based in Pune, India, that develops and manages renewable energy facilities such as solar and wind farms, as well as infrastructure assets.
Powering Progress strategy
Shell’s acquisition of solar and wind assets will triple the company’s current renewable capacity in operation and aid in the execution of its Powering Progress strategy. Powering Progress includes the development of an integrated power business, which will assist Shell in meeting its goal of becoming a profitable net-zero emissions energy business by 2050.
