United Kingdom – Global Port Services, a subsidiary of Global Energy Group, has launched Global Wind Projects in response to the recent rapid and projected growth of the UK renewables sector.

For onshore and offshore wind turbine installation projects, Global Wind Projects will provide full-scope crane & installation (C&I) services as one of the leading providers in the UK and Ireland.

Three major contracts for 2022 have already been secured by Global Wind Projects, resulting in the creation of 35 new jobs. The team in Scotland is expected to double in size by the third quarter of 2022.

Projects

This month, Global Wind Projects was hired by Nordex to work on the Harting Rig development in South Lanarkshire, which includes 15 wind turbine generators. In terms of hub height, the project has some of the most advanced turbines ever installed in the United Kingdom. At Nordex’s Cumberhead 12 WTG project in South Lanarkshire, Global Wind Projects will deploy again in June; the first SGRE 5X wind turbines will be installed in the UK at the 8 WTG Longhill wind turbine project of West Lothian in October 2022.

Global Wind Projects and its parent company, Global Port Services, will work together to offer customers a crane and installation package backed by experienced teams and access to a cutting-edge fleet of heavy cranes, with the goal of supplying skilled wind turbine technicians to OEMs and wind farm developers.
