The Netherlands – Ocean Winds, a 50:50 joint venture between EDP Renewables (EDPR) and ENGIE, has submitted a bid for the Hollandse Kust West (HKW) Wind Farm Zone VI.

The company is competing for the right to build 790 MW of offshore wind power. The site for a future bottom-fixed offshore wind farm is 53 kilometers from the coast and covers an area of approximately 88 km2. It is expected to generate more than 3.4 TWh of clean energy. Through its bidding company GreenBreeze, Ocean Winds took part in the Site VI tender.

Wind portfolio

Ocean Winds has a total portfolio of 11.2 GW of gross capacity and operates 12 offshore wind projects in seven countries, including the 950 MW Moray East (UK), Seamade (487 MW) and WindFloat Atlantic (Belgium) (Portugal, 25 MW).
