Norway – Fincantieri has signed a contract with the Norwegian company Norwind Offshore for the design and construction of two more Commissioning Service Operations Vessels (CSOV) through its subsidiary Vard.
New options for two additional vessels have also been agreed upon by the parties. This order follows one from the same customer in October 2021 for the construction of two CSOVs (which has now been increased to four) as well as the sale and conversion of one Platform Supply Vessel, a Vard’s property, which the owner will operate as a Service Operation Vessel.
Vessel delivery
In the first quarter of 2024, the first ship will be built in Braila, Romania, and equipped and delivered in Brattvaag, Norway. The second ship will be built in Vung Tau, Vietnam, and will be delivered in the second quarter of 2025. The ships will be prepped for the installation of battery systems.
