United KingdomThe first stage of testing for Oasis Marine Power’s offshore charging station has been completed, and the design has been deemed successful.

This product was the first in development and is the first of its kind in the world to go through sea trials. It promises to revolutionize the use of renewable energy in the maritime industry.

Charging station powered by wind

The Oasis Power Buoy is a zero-emission offshore mooring and charging station powered by wind turbines. The Oasis Power Buoy, which was initially designed for Wind Farm Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs), fills a critical need for offshore charging of hybrid and all-electric vessels.

The majority of CO2 emissions from an operational wind farm are currently emitted by diesel-powered maintenance vessels. The Oasis Power Buoy makes zero-emission vessels feasible for the industry, allowing for significant carbon and cost savings.

The first of a series of tests was held in the Port of Cromarty Firth, Scotland, in January 2022. The Oasis Power Buoy will now go through additional testing and optimization, including long-term sea trials.
