Italy The 25 MW Monte Mattina and 45 MW Sant’Alessandro wind farms of EDP Renewables, the world’s fourth-largest renewable energy producer, are now operational.

The projects are expected to reduce annual CO2 emissions by 86,000 metric tons and provide power to more than 58,000 homes.

It’s in Campania, where EDPR has grown from 35 to 60 megawatts of wind power. It has seven wind turbines with a combined capacity of 3.6 megawatts. At the time of this writing, the Sant’Alessandro wind farm in Basilicata had 171 MW and will now have 226 MW. It has a total of thirteen 3.45 MW wind turbines installed.

EDPR now has a total installed capacity of 385 MW in Italy following the completion of both projects. This year, around 100 MW of this total capacity have been connected to the power grid. It is part of the company’s strategy to deploy around 20 GW of renewable energy by 2025, which includes developing a capex plan worth around ā‚¬19 billion.
