Italy – Vestas has been awarded a 42 MW contract to repower the Monreale Partinico wind farm in Sicily, Italy.
The contract is for the procurement and installation of ten V136-4.2 MW wind turbines to replace the existing 19 V52-850 kW turbines at the site. Vestas will also provide support to the wind farm via a multi-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM5000) deal.
The order was placed by ERG Wind Energy Srl., a completely owned subsidiary of ERG S.p.A., a significant independent renewable energy producer in Italy.
Vestas has obtained about 1.4 GW of contracts from Italy’s renewable energy auctions, where it has installed more than 4.5 GW since 1991, commanding a market share of more than 40%.
Delivery of the turbine is scheduled for the third quarter of 2022, with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022.
