The Netherlands – Shell and Stork have recently inked a strategic agreement for the Holland Hydrogen 1 Project.

The primary objective of the Holland Hydrogen 1 Project is to establish a facility on the Second Maasvlakte with a formidable capacity of 200 MW. This installation is engineered to produce an impressive 60 tons of hydrogen daily.

Critical component

The heart of the Holland Hydrogen 1 Project lies in its innovative technology stack. The electrolyser, a critical component of the installation, harnesses electricity generated by the recently completed Hollandse Kust Noord wind farm. This synergy between wind power and electrolysis is a testament to the holistic approach towards sustainable energy production.

As the project nears its operational phase in 2025, it is poised to make a significant impact on the hydrogen production landscape. The production capacity of 60 tons of hydrogen per day is substantial, positioning the facility as a key player in meeting the growing demand for green hydrogen across industries.
