Norway – HydrogenPro and Andritz have teamed up to increase the production and assembly of electrolyzers for the European market.
By this collaboration, HydrogenPro and Andritz can combine their respective strengths in production and assembly with their experience in high-pressure alkaline electrolyzer (AEL) technology. Under the partnership, Andritz will be able to sell HydrogenPro’s technology as part of their EPC line of environmentally friendly hydrogen products. As a rapidly expanding international green hydrogen technology firm, HydrogenPro will be able to accelerate the pace at which it offers its technology to the European market.
As a clean energy substitute for fossil fuels, the developing green hydrogen economy is viewed as a crucial part of the fight against climate change. Green hydrogen production relies heavily on electrolysis technology, which uses renewable electricity to extract hydrogen and oxygen from water.
Hydrogen development
The International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates that by 2050, green hydrogen generation must expand 40-fold in order to achieve the Paris Agreement’s objectives. By 2030, Europe has set itself the lofty goal of constructing up to 40 GW of electrolysis capacity, which would necessitate large investments in the production and assemblage of electrolyzers.
This alliance between Andritz and HydrogenPro opens up a lot of opportunity for achieving these goals. The alliance combines Andritz’s operational excellence and EPC supplier experience with HydrogenPro’s innovative electrolyzer design and knowledge of underlying technologies. By this non-exclusive alliance, Andritz will be able to include HydrogenPro’s AEL technology in its full line of environmentally friendly hydrogen plants and solutions.
Europe’s Green Deal
The alliance between Andritz and HydrogenPro also supports Europe’s Green Deal and its goals of becoming the first continent in the world to be climate neutral by 2050. The electrolyzers’ green hydrogen can be applied to a variety of fields, such as heating, industrial, and transportation.
The agreement is anticipated to aid in the creation of jobs in Europe and enable the introduction of environmentally friendly hydrogen technology there. The financial terms of the partnership have not been made public by the companies.
