United States – Linde has negotiated a long-term arrangement with ExxonMobil to offtake carbon dioxide from Linde’s new clean hydrogen production facility in Beaumont, Texas.

ExxonMobil will transport and permanently store up to 2.2 million metric tonnes of carbon dioxide per year from Linde’s hydrogen manufacturing facility, which is equivalent to the annual emissions from roughly half a million cars.

Providing clean hydrogen

Linde previously stated that it will construct, own, and operate an on-site complex to provide clean hydrogen and nitrogen to OCI Global’s new world-scale blue ammonia factory. Linde’s new facility is set to open in 2025 and will be connected into the company’s substantial Gulf Coast industrial gas infrastructure. It will also provide clean hydrogen to other new and existing off-takers throughout the network.
