Finland – A significant deal has been reached between Enersense and Q Power regarding the delivery of steel structures for reactor modules for a methanation facility.

The contract relates to the synthetic methane manufacturing facility that Q Power provided to P2X Solutions in Harjavalta. The facility is being constructed beside a green hydrogen producing facility. The green hydrogen and synthetic methane production facilities owned by P2X are forerunners in Finland’s synthetic fuel and hydrogen industries. They are the country’s first plants of their size and type.

Synthetic methane

With the Q Power-supplied methanation plant, some of the hydrogen produced sustainably in Harjavalta will be converted into synthetic methane. In addition to the green hydrogen production plant, the plant will be delivered and put into service in 2024. The modular buildings will be created in Enersense’s Mäntyluoto production facilities. The order will be recorded in the Smart Industrial business category of Enersense’s order book for the first quarter of 2023. Since bacteria are the primary cause of methanation and are present in the reactors used by Q Power, the condition of the reactors is vitally important.

P2X Solutions

16.3% of P2X Solutions are owned by Enersense. Enersense is active in allowing energy storage opportunities made possible by green hydrogen through P2X and lowering the emissions of heavy transportation utilizing hydrogen and synthetic fuels.
