Germany – Aramco and Linde Engineering have agreed to collaborate on the development of a new ammonia cracking technique.

Aramco and Linde Engineering have agreed to establish a demonstration plant in northern Germany to display this revolutionary ammonia cracking technology. Linde Engineering plans to sell this ammonia cracking technology to existing and new customers, thereby opening up new business potential in the worldwide lower-carbon energy supply chain.

Combining expertise

Linde Engineering and Aramco will collaborate to utilize their experience and capabilities in industrial research and development, lower-carbon hydrogen, and ammonia cracking technology.

The ammonia cracking catalyst, developed jointly by Aramco and the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), will be examined against other catalysts as a possible differentiator of this new technology.
