Brazil/The Netherlands – The TransHydrogen Alliance (THA), whose goal is to establish new supply chains for the energy transition of European nations, has partnered with Casa dos Ventos and Comerc Eficiência.
The parties also agreed to work together to create a successful collaboration with the goal of producing the first phase in 2026 and exporting it to Europe via the Dutch Port of Rotterdam.
The agreement’s main goal is to make it possible to export green ammonia made in Ceará’s Industrial and Port Complex of Pecém (CIPP). When all phases are completed, the facility, which will be constructed on a 60-hectare site, will be able to produce 2.2 million tons of ammonia annually and have an electrolysis capacity of up to 2.4 GW, creating 960 tons of hydrogen daily.
Brazil’s production market
Brazil holds a significant position in the market for green hydrogen and ammonia. It is one of the few nations in the world where the energy matrix’s properties allow for the competitive, widespread production of renewable energy and its derivatives. According to surveys, Brazil’s market for producing green hydrogen by 2040 might be worth between $15 billion and $20 billion USD yearly.
