Sweden – The feasibility of producing green and renewable hydrogen gas in Härjedalen will be investigated by Lhyfe and the municipality of Härjedalen.
With an expected capacity of 5 MW, the feasibility study will examine the options for producing green and renewable hydrogen as well as elements of energy supply, production capacity, technological selection, location, land availability, utilization of waste heat, and coproduced oxygen gas.
Early in the next year, the feasibility analysis will be given. Depending on the findings, a more thorough project feasibility study may or may not be conducted.
Phasing out fossil fuels
Using the excess local electricity generated by wind and hydropower, a facility manufacturing green, renewable hydrogen might relieve the primary electrical grid. Hydrogen production in Härjedalen might supply transportation and industry with hydrogen, phasing out fossil fuels and lowering carbon dioxide emissions in the area.
