Egypt – A consortium of Belgian energy and green hydrogen firms plans to construct a production and storage facility in Egypt near the Mediterranean Sea.
The feasibility study was created thanks to the efforts of DEME Group, Fluxys, and Antwerp Port.
Staged development
In the first stage, the project plans to generate 800 MW of solar power and 700 MW of wind power. In the first stage, we will cap emissions at 600,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year.
Moreover, the Belgian collaboration plans to build 500 MW of electrolysis equipment near Gargoub Port in Marsa Matrouh, with the intention of shipping its output to Europe.
