The Netherlands – In order to sign a letter of intent with Oman for green hydrogen, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte is attending the climate summit in Sharm el-Sheikh.
Hydrogen is regarded as a significant, clean alternative to fossil fuels, particularly for heavy industry and transportation. It requires a significant amount of electricity to generate it in an environmentally responsible manner. With the help of the electricity produced by wind and solar power plants, green hydrogen is produced. Green hydrogen can be produced in favorable conditions in a sunny desert nation like Oman. On Monday, the details of the agreement with Oman will become clear.
Rutte will address the delegates in a brief speech and engage in one-on-one discussions with other leaders.
Previous deals
Namibia and the Netherlands agreed to work together on hydrogen projects at the previous summit in Glasgow. The objective was to encourage the growth of hydrogen supply chains between the two nations.
Participants work together to encourage public and private investment in green hydrogen projects, opening up new business and industrial prospects and assisting private-sector networks in hastening the adoption of both nations’ green hydrogen agendas.
