France – Linde has agreed to supply hydrogen and steam to BASF on a long-term basis.

Linde will design, construct, own, and operate a new hydrogen production facility in Chalampé, France, effectively doubling the company’s current capacity in the Chalampé chemical park, where it already has one. This second plant will supply BASF’s new hexamethylenediamine (HMD) manufacturing facility as well as Linde’s local merchant customers’ growing demand for hydrogen. The plant is scheduled to begin operations in the first half of 2024.

Linde operates the world’s first high-purity hydrogen storage cavern as well as pipeline networks totaling approximately 1,000 kilometres globally. Linde is a pioneer in the clean hydrogen transition, having installed 200 hydrogen fueling stations and 80 hydrogen electrolysis plants around the world.
