United StatesPlug Power and Certarus (USA) have signed a long-term supply and logistics agreement to scale and expand the infrastructure required to accelerate the adoption of green hydrogen fuel.

The companies will combine their expertise in hydrogen production, mobile energy distribution, and related technologies to improve the North American supply chain, making hydrogen fuel a more affordable and convenient option for businesses looking to reduce carbon emissions and achieve ESG goals across multiple industry sectors.

Certarus will receive up to 10 tons of green hydrogen per day from Plug Power’s North American hydrogen production network, with initial deliveries expected in Q1 2022. Certarus’ integrated logistics platform and industry-leading fleet of compressed gas delivery trailers will safely transport hydrogen from production sites to Plug Power and Certarus end users. Leading mining, power generation, natural gas mid-stream, and industrial energy users are among these end users. The companies will also collaborate on the supply of Plug Power equipment to meet the needs of these customers at a low cost.

This collaboration will help alleviate infrastructure bottlenecks and make cost-effective hydrogen available to more customers across North America, thanks to Plug Power’s market leadership in green hydrogen solutions and Certarus’ proven success delivering low-carbon fuel solutions to mission critical industries and energy users. Certarus will offer hydrogen to its customers as a pure or methane-blended fuel to further accelerate green hydrogen’s adoption in energy transition applications.
