South Korea/Germany – Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS), a state-owned company, has partnered with Germany’s Siemens Energy AG to promote foreign green hydrogen development projects.
The two parties signed a business agreement to advance the hydrogen industry’s stability, including green hydrogen manufacturing and hydrogen energy generation.
Large scale production
According to the terms of the agreement, the two parties will collaborate closely across the entire hydrogen value chain, including large-scale green hydrogen production and supply for the domestic market, hydrogen turbine power generation, and green hydrogen production and introduction in other countries.
Siemens Energy, the industrial giant Siemens AG’s gas and power subsidiary that was spun out and listed on the stock exchange in September 2020, offers industry-leading capabilities across the entire energy value chain, including electricity transmission, gas power generation, grid stabilization and storage.
Siemens began in 2015
Siemens Energy began producing hydrogen using proton exchange membranes (PEMs) in 2015 as part of the Energiepark Mainz wind energy project.
There are now three methods for producing hydrogen, and green hydrogen is the most environmentally friendly method because it generates hydrogen from water using renewable energy.
