The Netherlands – The Gasunie, a well-known Dutch natural gas infrastructure firm, is getting ready to maximize the efficiency of its nitrogen plant in Zuidbroek. The project, executed in association with principal contractor Air Products, has the potential to completely alter the nitrogen supply.
According to the most recent data obtained from Air Products, Gasunie believes that the Zuidbroek nitrogen plant will begin production in October. Given the challenges of setting up a new installation, the launch will be carried out in stages to guarantee smooth operations right away.
Satisfying consumer demand
The market will be officially opened to 60,000 m3/h of nitrogen beginning on October 2nd, according to Gasunie Transport Services’ plan. With the remaining 120,000 m3/h being offered on an interruptible basis, this stepwise approach guarantees that market needs are addressed. The capacity is expected to gradually increase to the full 180,000 m3/h by November 7th through a continuous growth.
The strategic move is being made at a time when fluctuating market demand is being caused by high prices. The responsive strategy adopted by Gasunie, which is grounded in the knowledge obtained during the project’s development, guarantees that the nitrogen installations are prepared to meet the demand for this essential resource in an efficient manner. The upcoming opening of Gasunie’s Zuidbroek nitrogen plant is evidence of the company’s dedication to establishing a resilient energy environment.
