Germany – MAN Energy Solutions and Aker Carbon Capture are collaborating to develop a joint power-to-fuel solution. The feasibility study will investigate the full integration of Aker Carbon Capture’s Just Catch 100 unit into a power-to-fuel process.

The goal is to create a highly energy-efficient and integrated solution that can produce sustainable e-methane or other e-fuels. The primary goal of the partnership is to develop a commercially viable power-to-fuel solution that can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The solution will utilize Aker Carbon Capture’s Just Catch 100 unit to capture CO2 from flue gases, which will then be combined with green hydrogen to produce e-fuels.

Just Catch 100

The Just Catch 100 unit is a standardized and modular carbon capture system that is designed to be easy to install and operate. The system uses a proprietary amine-based solvent to capture CO2 from flue gases. The captured CO2 is then transported to a storage facility or used to produce e-fuels.

The successful development of a power-to-fuel solution could have a significant impact on the transition to a low-carbon economy. E-fuels can be used in a variety of applications, including transportation, power generation, and industrial processes. As a result, the development of a power-to-fuel solution could help to reduce emissions from a wide range of sectors.
