Canada – Through an international partnership with Accelerating CCS Technologies, ERA is committing over $2 million to four carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) projects worth nearly $24 million.
These cutting-edge Alberta projects were chosen as part of the ACT consortium’s recent Call for Proposals, and they will receive funding from eight countries to help them commercialize in the province.
Chosen projects
In total, 13 projects from around the world were chosen, totaling $68 million in public and private funds, with $43 million coming from ACT partners. Each project is made up of a group of at least three qualified applicants from three different countries. A rigorous two-stage evaluation process led by an independent international expert panel selected the projects. Alberta’s industry-funded Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction (TIER) fund is providing funding.
ACT is a collaboration of research and innovation funding organizations from 16 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and others, and is coordinated by the Research Council of Norway (RCN). Alberta is the first sub-national member of ERA.
