Russia – Vestas has won a 253 MW order for four independent projects in Russia from Wind Energy Development Fund (WEDF), a joint investment fund formed by OOO Fortum Energy and RUSNANO.
The Novoalekseevskaya, Grazhdanskaya, Ivanovskaya, and Pokrovskaya projects were all created by WEDF following the fund being awarded 1 GW in Russia’s 2017 renewable energy auction.
Over 800 MW in Russia
Vestas now has over 800 MW of project capacity won in Russia as a result of the 253 MW in orders. Along with its sales success in Russia, Vestas operates a blade facility in Ulyanovsk, where the company recently celebrated the manufacturing of the 650th V126 blade.
Vestas will supply and install V126-4.2 MW turbines in 4.55 MW power optimized mode for the 100 MW Grazhdanskaya, 50 MW Ivanovskaya, and 86 MW Pokrovskaya projects. With a capacity of 17 MW, the Novoalekseevskaya project will benefit from the supply and installation of four V126-4.2 MW turbines.
First deliver in 2nd quarter of 2022
The Grazhdanskaya, Ivanovskaya, and Pokrovskaya projects are located near the city of Samara in southwest Russia. The first turbines for these three projects are scheduled to be delivered in the second quarter of 2022, with full commissioning scheduled for late 2023. The Novoalekseevskaya project is located in the Volgograd region’s Kotovsky area. Turbines will be delivered in the third quarter of 2021, with the project’s complete commissioning scheduled for the second quarter of 2022.
