Spain – Enerfin, a subsidiary of Elecnor, plans to build a green hydrogen production plant called ‘Green H2 Langosteira’ in the Port of A Coruña, in Punta Langosteira.
The project, which is expected to be ready by the end of 2023, will manufacture hydrogen via electrolysis from water and will include a hydrogen vehicle refueling station.
The hydrogen produced will be used for a variety of purposes, including the transportation of heavy trucks and port machinery using fuel cells, as well as industrial activities, all of which will result in considerable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere.
Refueling station
The project is part of the ‘A Coruña Green Port’ initiative, promoted by the Port Authority of A Coruña, aspiring to become a decarbonization hub and a reference point for the supply of green H2 in the region.
The plant positions the Port of A Coruña as one of the first ports in Europe to integrate a generation plant and a renewable hydrogen refueling station into its facilities.
