France – In order to hasten the adoption of Enerkem’s technology platform for biofuels and circular chemical products from non-recyclable waste materials, Technip Energies and Enerkem have inked an agreement to collaborate.
Enerkem focuses on the creation and marketing of its revolutionary gasification technology, which converts non-recyclable trash into biofuels, low-carbon fuels, and circular chemicals, serving challenging markets including sustainable aviation and marine fuels. In Alberta, Canada, Enerkem has been running a commercial demonstration scale operation since 2016. The business is also presently engaged in the design and construction of brand-new, large-scale waste-to-methanol facilities in Canada and Europe.
In order to support the projects created by Enerkem, Technip Energies, which has successfully completed bio and low-carbon fuels projects all over the world, will offer its expertise in engineering, technology integration, and project delivery. The capacity and speed of Enerkem’s project delivery will increase thanks to this agreement. Additionally, by reproducing Enerkem’s ideas for future projects, the collaboration will concentrate on strategic efforts to optimize design aspects and industrialize the methodology.
DevCo
Enerkem aims to set up a Development Company (DevCo) to hasten the adoption of its technologies. For the replicable methanol biorefinery concept, allowing the production of bio and low-carbon fuels as well as circular chemicals, DevCo’s goal is to purchase sites and gain the necessary permits.
