France – Total Quadran was awarded 50 megawatts of solar projects in a French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) 4 tender. Most of the awarded sites will be developed on repurposed sites and will allow to redesign former industrial sites.
The last 18 months Total was awarded close to 400 MW of solar projects. Total Quadran will ensure the construction, operation and commissioning of these projects by 2022. Total has the ambition to get to net zero by 2050. Therefore the French energy company is building a portfolio of activities in renewables and electricity. These assets should account for up to 40 % of its sales by 2050.
100 gigawatt ahead
At the end of 2020, Total’s gross power generation capacity worldwide was around 12 GW, including 7 GW of renewable energy. Total will continue to expand this business to reach 100 GW of gross production capacity from renewable sources by 2030.
