United Kingdom – Seagreen 1 Limited has chosen Subsea 7’s Seaway 7 as a preferred supplier for the Seagreen 1A offshore wind project in Scotland.
Seagreen 1A is located next to the existing Seagreen project, which is currently being developed by Seaway 7, and adds approximately 500MW of renewable energy generation capacity.
The scope of work for Seaway 7 is still being finalized, but it could include full engineering, fabrication, transportation, and installation of 36 foundations, as well as the transportation and installation of the offshore substation and the procurement and installation of inner-array cables. The scope will be managed out of Seaway 7’s Aberdeen office.
Pending approval
The project is set to start in 2023, with offshore work starting in late 2024, and it could be operational by 2025/26.
The timeline and selection of Seaway 7 are contingent on the Seagreen 1A project receiving approval and SSE Renewables and TotalEnergies making a final investment decision.
