Finland – Neste is testing a new Neste Marine 0.1 Co-processed marine fuel in Scandinavia with its partner Nordic Marine Oil, a solution that will help the maritime sector reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
When compared to fossil fuels, the ISCC PLUS certified marine fuel reduces GHG emissions by up to 80% over the lifecycle while maintaining product quality and performance. The shipping industry, which accounts for 90% of global trade and 13% of global transport emissions, requires viable solutions to reduce its carbon footprint in line with the International Maritime Organization’s targets.
0.1 Neste Marine Co-processed marine fuel is made at Neste’s refinery in Porvoo, Finland, where renewable and fossil raw materials are combined in the traditional refining process. Because the drop-in fuel has a similar composition to conventional bunker fuels, it can be used without any fleet modifications.
