The Netherlands – A contract for the transportation and installation of export cables for a large offshore wind farm development has been awarded to Boskalis.
The contract value for Boskalis is deemed’significant,’ implying that it is worth between EUR 150 and 300 million.
Work scope
The scope of the contract includes ocean transportation of export cables using in-house heavy transport vessels. Three 275kV AC export cables with a total length of more than 200 kilometres are part of the installation scope, which will occupy one of the N-class cable laying vessels for at least nine months. The preparation work will begin in the second half of 2023, followed by the cable installation work in 2024.
The new contract comes after Boskalis was awarded similar work for the Hollandse Kust West Beta grid connection in the Netherlands, in partnership with Orient Cable (NBO).
