Denmark RWE has signed a 30-year concession agreement with the Danish Energy Agency (Energistyrelsen) to build and operate the Thor offshore wind farm.

As of now, Thor is Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm, with a capacity of around 1,000 megawatts. Off the coast of Denmark, a wind farm will be built and fully operational in 2027. Thor will be able to generate enough green electricity to power over a million Danish homes once it is fully operational.

By 2030, the company hopes to triple its global offshore wind capacity from 2.4 gigawatts to 8 gigawatts through the Thor project.
